Spring Party
IIR SA participated in a Spring Party and presentation to our Country
Manager, James Gareh on Friday the 22nd of September with children from
7+ creche’s in Lawley, 260+ in total as well as the teachers and principals.
This was to celebrate the successful completion of James’s Iron Man
Competition during which he raised R135 000 for the Ekukhanyeni Initiative.
To show their gratitude the children drew enormous pictures which they
presented to him with a song or speech from the various children. Many
of the children introduced themselves and showed off their English skills
by counting, reciting the alphabet, or telling us what their plans are
for the future – you will be glad to know that we have a future President
and Health Minister in the making. The Head’s and some teachers from
the various schools also took part and soon we were all singing and
dancing to the sound of the children’s happy voices. To end off this
momentous occasion we handed out party packs with sweets, chips, cool
drinks and a lucky packet for each child. Imagine the smiles on their
faces. We have attached a few pictures for your perusal too so that
you can share in our joy and excitement at being involved in this very
worthy cause.
